一、Hydropower and Water Conservancy Projects

We have completed hydropower planning for more than 100 rivers in China and in other countries and pumped storage power station planning for several provinces, with a total planned installed capacity over 70,000MW. More than 60 hydropower stations are completed and have a total capacity of 22,000MW in service. We designed Wujiangdu HPP (the first hydropower project built in karst area in China), Fengtan hollow gravity arch dam and Dongjiang double-curvature arch dam (the highest of that type in the world at that time), Wuqiangxi HPP (its huge surface bay radial gates ranking first in the world at the time, large-diameter pressure headrace penstock ranking second in the world and first in China, high-head three-lift continuous ship lock ranking first in the world, and large-diameter all stainless steel Francis turbine runners ranking third in the world and first in China), Longtan HPP (highest RCC dam and largest underground powerhouse in the world), and Sanbanxi HPP (second highest CFRD in the world).

Earliest Project

Photo 1: Shangyoujiang HPP. Located in Shangyou County of Jiangxi Province, it has a hollow gravity arch dam (maximum height 67.5m), and an installed capacity of 60MW. It is the first hydropower project investigated and designed by us.

Featured Projects Built in Karst Area

Photo 2: Wujiangdu HPP. Located in Zunyi City of Guizhou Province, it has an arch gravity dam (165m high), and an installed capacity of 1130MW (including extension). It was awarded first prize for national scientific and technological progress, and gold prizes for national excellent engineering investigation and for excellent engineering design.


Photo 3: Wulichong Reservoir. Located in Mengzi County of Yunnan Province, it is the first undammed reservoir successfully built in karst area in China with a water depth over one hundred meters and a storage capacity over 50 million m3. It was awarded silver prizes for national excellent engineering investigation and for excellent engineering design.

Featured Arch Dams

Photo 4: Dongjiang HPP. Located in Zixing City of Hunan Province, it has a double-curvature thin arch dam (157m high, highest double-curvature arch dam in China at that time), and an installed capacity of 500MW. It was awarded gold prizes for national excellent engineering investigation and for excellent engineering design.


Photo 5: Fengtan HPP. Located in Yuanling County of Hunan Province, it has the highest hollow gravity arch dam (112.5m high) and an installed capacity 800MW (including extension).


Photo 6: Jinggangchong HPP. Located in Jinggangshan City of Jiangxi Province, it has a fine-stone concrete masonry double-curvature arch dam (92.5m high) and an installed capacity of 12MW. It was awarded silver prize for national excellent engineering design.

Featured Gravity Dams

Photo 7: Wuqiangxi HPP. Located in Yuanling County of Hunan Province, it has a gravity dam (maximum dam height 85.83m) and an installed capacity of 1200MW. It was awarded gold prizes for national excellent engineering investigation and for excellent engineering design.


Photo 8: Longtan HPP. Located in Tian’e County of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, it has a 216.5m-high RCC gravity dam and an installed capacity of 6300MW. It ranked first in the world in terms of height of RCC gravity dam, scale of underground headrace power system, lifting height of vertical ship lift, and unit capacity of fully air-cooled turbo-generator unit at the time. Longtan Dam won the International Milestone RCC Project Award.


Photo 9: Xiangjiaba HPP. Located in Yibin County of Sichuan Province and Shuifu County of Yunnan Province, it has a concrete gravity dam (maximum height 162m) and an installed capacity of 6400MW. A series of key technical problems have been solved, including dam stability against sliding for deep and shallow layers, high-head large-unit-discharge flood discharge and energy dissipation, underground powerhouse with largest span in the world, replacement of tailrace surge chamber by tailrace tunnel with sloping ceiling, one-stage vertical ship lift, largest caisson group in the world, largest artificial aggregate processing system in China, and long-distance belt conveyor.


Photo 10: Lingjintan HPP. Located in Taoyuan County of Hunan Province, it has a 52.05m-high concrete gravity dam and an installed capacity of 270MW. It won first prize for excellent engineering investigation of Hunan Province and gold prize of China Patent Technology Fair.


Photo 11: Zhexi HPP. Located in Anhua County of Hunan Province, it has a 104m-high concrete buttress dam and an installed capacity of 947.5MW (including extension).

Featured Earth Dams and CFRDs

Photo 12: Sanbanxi HPP. Located in Jinping County of Guizhou Province, it has a concrete-faced rockfill dam (maximum height 185.5m) and an installed capacity of 1000MW. Its dam building technology was a key national scientific research project in the Tenth Five-Year Plan period. The application of such technologies as damming with super-hard rock and realizing flood retention in one dry season offered new ideas for the design and construction of 200m-level high CFRDs.


Photo 13: Jiangpinghe HPP. Located in Hefeng County of Hubei Province, it has a 219.00m-high dam (the second highest CFRD in the world) and an installed capacity of 225MW. The Feasibility Study Report for Jiangpinghe Hydropower Project was awarded first prize for national excellent consulting achievement in 2008.


Photo 14: Daguangba HPP. Located in Dongfang County of Hainan Province, it has an earth dam (length 5123m, maximum height 55m) and an installed capacity of 240MW and is the largest hydropower project in Hainan Province.

二、Transportation and Civil Engineering Works

We started to be engaged in industrial and civil architectural design and town planning in the early 1980s. In the past 20 years, we have designed more than 200 projects with a total floor area over 5.0 million m2, of which 30 buildings are over 20 storeys (the highest one 38-storey). We accomplished county town relocation planning for Luxi, Jianhe, Suijiang, Pingshan and some others and designed a number of highways, tunnels and docks. The over 20 bridges accomplished include 508m-long Guangdong Lianjiang Bridge, 580m-long Suijiang Dawenxi Bridge and 804m-long Minjiang Bridge.

New Energy Projects

We have undertaken about one hundred wind power planning and design projects, with a total capacity of 80,000MW, in more than 10 provinces in China, DPRK, Kazakhstan, and other countries. We have prepared the offshore wind power planning for Shandong, Hainan and other provinces, designed and established a sea test field, and carried out offshore wind power scientific research as the first one in China.

Water Utilities

We are engaged in municipal sewage treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, urban water supply, sea water desalinization, and landfill leachate treatment and have Class A qualification certificates for operation of environmental pollution improvement facilities for both domestic sewage and industrial wastewater. The services we offer can be divided into four components, i.e., investment, EPC contracting, equipment research and development, and operation and management. Currently we own 7 water plants (6 invested and 1 operated under contract) and 5 project companies, with a total capacity up to 705,000 tons/day. With assets worth 800 million yuan, we are the biggest local water service company in Hunan Province.
