HydroChina ZhongNan won the bid in 2003 to undertake the design of Xiangjiang River Landscape of Xiangjiang Avenue in Changsha City.
Xiangjiang River Landscape of Xiangjiang Avenue stretches 1160m from Zhanlanguan Road intersection in the south to Beizhan Road intersection in the north, 30m-100m wide and 100,000 m2 in area. The design concept of the project is to locate the landscape by the river, consider the mountain and the river as a whole, and make the scene unusual and the space lively due to the existence of the water. The overall design fully embodies the concept of human-oriented and unity between man and nature. The design of the landscape has integrated the urban landscape and flood control works and properly handled their relation. Xiangjiang River Landscape is a representative works in building up Changsha’s image of “a city with mountain, river and island”. Bordering on the Xiangjiang River, it is the largest leisure square in Changsha and deeply loved by the public. When it was completed, the major news services reported the event and gave a high rating.
